Los Angelenos
(Billy Joel 1974) 3.32
Performed by Vic Ruggerio
"LOS ANGELENOS THEY ALL COME FROM SOMEWHERE"
"GOING NOWHERE DOWN THE STREETS WITH THE SPANISH NAMES"
"HANGING OUT ON THE BEACHES, SMOKING MEXICAN REFER NO ONE EVER HAS TO FEEL LIKE A REFUGEE"
Another one of the New Yorkers perspective of California and a song I wanted hear Vic sing. The reworking of the song to a Caribbean style is 100% due to Vic's styling with his keyboard. I must have been about 15 when I saw Billy Joel in Venice Italy with Christy Brinkley. He was staying at the Danielle Hotel and I was taking the CIGA Boats. I said hello and talked for like 5 mins, he told me he was on his way to Russia to perform. I remember calling the hotel and asking for his room, he answered and I asked him if he would like to meet my family at a restaurant for dinner. He graciously declined — like he would ever meet a 15 year old for dinner just — but having the balls and the means to call and get through to his room, and talk with him .. and to have him say thank you but they were going out tonight with friends, and leaving in the morning,.. Pretty crazy.
