"EVERYONE WALKING AROUND TRYING TO GET THE BEST OF THEIR CREATOR"
This was one of the first songs that Vic recorded for the project. One of the best songs from the Exile on Main Street album. Vic use of the harmonica and bongos really gives it a bluesyness that really groves. Back in the Spring of 88' I was a sophomore attending the University of Miami and one of my high school friend Sean was doing camera work for an HBO production filming Ron Wood and Bo Diddley at his club Woodies on The Beach. He was filming the whole performance and had invited me to be his guest. I remember getting there early and sitting at a small table behind Sean as he set up the equipment and stuff. So, here I am sitting at this small table when I see this woman at the table next to me, and she's rolling a joint. Now maybe today in the year 2022 that would be OK, but back in 1988, that was a big No No. So, I lean over and in the nicest of wa s and I said He if I were ou I would smoke that outside- there's a good place on side of the club. All of a sudden she starts laughing and say's "sweetie I'm only rolling up a fag"; giggles and says off handily "This is my husband club, do I look that stupid" ... I'm like shit I really fucked up .. And then all of a sudden she giggles again and says "when the break comes if you have a joint you'd smoke, that would be great" .. and that is how I meet Ronnie Wood from the Rolling Stones, back in 1988, standing outside his club in Miami smoking a joint with his wife.
